Reading, as spoken by my little girl

My daughter is 8 years old and an avid reader--she has an excellent school and an excellent teacher, but she likes to read because she chooses to read.

She likes to read--in her words because......."I can learn more about dinosaurs"
........"I can gather more facts".....

Books she loves to read........... Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Snakes, Alligators and Crocodiles, 39 Clues and Lizards.

Why do like dinosaur books?......."I enjoy dinosaurs because my art teacher got me into it"

I really enjoy reading--I enjoy it day in and day out. But, in order for me to enjoy it and get out of it what I put in it, I must find a reading spot that is comfortable for me to read--I can not read in a cozy chair, I fall asleep. I cannot read in bed, once again I fall asleep. I have to sit at the dinning room table and read. There my mind is in the book, and not nodding off to sleep. Reading is an enjoyment we can do any time, any place--the key is to find yours. Find your spot; back porch, front swing, kitchen table. JUST READ, it will take you places you never thought you could go. The amazon jungle, Mars, the White House, Gettysburg, any where and any time we will be taken into thought, dreams, science--and if we can be taken there, where do you think kids will be taken? Read, Read and Read some more--1 book a week equals 52 books a year, take up the challenge. Start today.

Half time--- at Maic game.

Big huge thanks goes out to the Orlando Magic--They had us down on the court at half time.

1000 miles plus on a  bicycle from Carmel, Indiana to Orlando, Florida was sure worth it.

We raised close to 4,000 dollars in donations, but more importantly we were able to raise awareness

for suicide, addictions, cancer and literacy.

OUR ride is over, the mission though is still going on. We still need to educate ourselves and others on these topics, it must never stop--thanks for all the support and cheers-- Jim Serger Jr.

We just made in on or way to Tell City-- very flat today, so we could average 17 miles an hour--of course through cities is slow. Light light light -- once we get through those smooth sailing.
